Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, who sees it and how long we keep it — written to be read rather than skimmed past.

Last updated: 1 September 2026

1. Who we are

UV Infosystems Pvt. Ltd. ("UV Infosystems", "we", "us") operates https://uvinfosystems.com and the service-booking platform available through it. Our registered office is at #99, 3rd Cross, Brindavan Layout, TC Palya Main Road, K R Puram, Bengaluru 560036, Karnataka, India, and our service centre is at #54, Haneesh Complex, Behind Indian Oil Petrol Bunk, Old Madras Road, Virgonagar, Bengaluru 560049, Karnataka, India.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what control you have over it. It applies to our website, our customer and technician portals and any service visit arranged through them.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to deliver a service to you. Specifically:

  • Identity and contact details — your name, phone number and email address.
  • Service address — the address where a technician is to attend, including any landmark you provide, and approximate location coordinates if you choose to share them.
  • Booking information — the service you selected, the problem description you wrote and any photos, videos or documents you uploaded.
  • Device and service records — make, model and serial numbers of equipment we work on, the faults found, the work performed and parts fitted.
  • Payment information — the amount, method, transaction reference and status. Card numbers, UPI PINs and bank credentials are handled entirely by our payment gateway and are never stored on our systems.
  • Business details — for business accounts, your organisation name, GSTIN and billing address.
  • Usage information — pages visited, device type and approximate location derived from IP address, used to keep the site working and secure.

3. How we use your information

  • To confirm and fulfil your booking, including assigning a technician and sharing the address they need to reach you.
  • To keep you informed — booking confirmation, technician assignment, arrival updates, completion and invoice notifications by SMS, WhatsApp, email or push.
  • To raise invoices and process payments, and to meet our tax and accounting obligations.
  • To provide warranty support, because we need the service history to honour a warranty claim.
  • To respond to your support tickets and enquiries.
  • To improve our service — analysing which faults are common, how long jobs take and where our technicians fall short.
  • To prevent fraud and misuse of the platform, and to keep it secure.

4. Data your technician can see

An assigned technician sees only what is needed to do the job: your name, your service address, your phone number and the problem you described, including any files you uploaded. They do not see your payment history, other bookings or your saved addresses beyond the one for that job.

Every technician works under a signed confidentiality undertaking. They may not copy data from your devices, access personal files unless a repair requires it and you have agreed, or retain anything after the job.

Where we later support masked calling, the technician will see a temporary relay number rather than your actual phone number.

5. Files you upload

Photos, videos and documents you attach to a booking are stored in encrypted object storage, accessible only to the assigned technician, our support team and, where relevant, the workshop engineer handling your device.

Uploads are retained for the warranty period of the related service and then deleted. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time, provided no warranty claim or dispute is open.

6. Data recovery work

Data recovery is handled with additional restrictions. Recovered data is accessed only by the assigned engineer, is never copied to any system other than the recovery workstation and the delivery medium agreed with you, and our working copies are securely wiped 14 days after handover.

We do not review the contents of recovered files beyond what is necessary to verify that recovery has succeeded.

7. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anybody else's marketing. We share it only:

  • With the technician assigned to your job, limited as described above.
  • With our payment gateway, to process a payment or refund you have initiated.
  • With SMS, WhatsApp, email and push providers, to deliver the notifications relating to your booking.
  • With a specialist partner, such as a cleanroom data recovery lab, only where you have approved that escalation in writing.
  • With our accountants and auditors, as required for statutory compliance.
  • With law enforcement or a court, where we are legally obliged to do so.

8. How long we keep it

  • Booking and service records — 8 years, as required for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Invoices and payment records — 8 years, as required by law.
  • Uploaded photos, videos and documents — for the warranty period of the related service, then deleted.
  • Data recovery working copies — 14 days after handover, then securely wiped.
  • Support tickets — 3 years from closure.
  • Marketing preferences — until you withdraw consent, plus a record of the withdrawal itself.

9. Security

We protect your information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity:

  • All traffic to and from our site is encrypted in transit using TLS.
  • Passwords are hashed with a modern algorithm and are never stored or transmitted in readable form.
  • Access to customer data is restricted by role, and every access to a booking record is logged.
  • Uploaded files are stored encrypted at rest with time-limited access links.
  • Payment credentials never touch our servers — they go directly to the payment gateway.
  • Our staff and technicians are trained on data handling and work under signed confidentiality undertakings.

10. Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate.
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we are legally required to retain.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications, without affecting service notifications for an active booking.
  • Object to a particular use of your information, and ask us to explain our basis for it.
  • Complain to us first, and then to the relevant data protection authority if you are not satisfied.

11. Cookies

We use cookies and similar browser storage for three purposes: keeping you signed in, remembering preferences such as your saved service area, and understanding aggregate site usage so we can fix what is not working.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser; sign-in and booking will still work, but you may have to re-enter your area each visit.

12. Children

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how we handle your information, we will update this page and notify registered customers by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
